Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California to Quincy Jones, a media producer and mogul, and Peggy Lipton,
Rashida is the younger sister of actress Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones. Kidada
Jones is her older sibling. Five half-siblings are born due to her father's
other marriages. Her father is African-American and her mother is Ashkenazi
Jewish (a descendant of refugees from Russia and Latvia). Rashida was raised in
Reform Judaism. She was born in Bel Air Los Angeles, California. Jones has
revealed of her multi-racial parentage, "It was the 1970s and still not
that acceptable for them to be in a relationship." Jones first
professional acting experience was in The Last Don (1997) A mini-series
inspired by Mario Puzo's novel. Also in 1997, Rashida graduated from Harvard
University. The course was at the Buckley School, Sherman Oaks, California. Was
voted Most Likely to succeed. Arabic (O+ O'UO-O(c) (her name) is a reference to
"Major," adult, wise, mature or older. People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful

vocalist in the tribute song to Tupac Shakur who was married to her sister
Kidada Jones. Kidada and Rashida's brother Quincy Jones III composed the song.
Quincy Jones III, their father, was also featured in the opening, reciting
Shakur's lines "Starry Night". The song's title is a reference to the
poem. Rashida is an African-American, and has little English, Scottish, or
Welsh family ancestry than his mother (some of his African family members are
of the Tikar tribe from Cameroon). Rashida's mom, Ashkenazi Jewish (of Russian
Jewish heritage as well as Latvian Jewish heritage), is Rashida. Her paternal
grandparents were from South Carolina and Mississippi, respectively. Her
maternal grandfather is born in New York and her maternal grandmother who is of
Eastern European Jewish descent, was born in Dublin, Ireland. As of the end of
2009, she has appeared in three characters under the title "Karen" on
classic cult television comedies (Freaks and Geeks (1999), Stella (2005) and
The Office (2005)).
