Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston), a national Director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright. She was born and
raised in San Diego. At the age of 14, she began her professional career in
modeling. She worked in Paris and Japan. She made the decision to become an
actress when she finished high school. She was cast in the soap opera Santa
Barbara (1984), in which she was nominated three more times for Daytime Emmys.
The first season of the show she fell in love with co-star Dane Witherspoon,
whom she got married in 1986. In 1987, she played the role of the title
character in The Princess Bride. She was chosen to play Santa Barbara but left
to play the role in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. It was during State of
Grace (1990) at the time she met Sean Penn. They had daughters Dylan Frances
and a son Hopper Jack. After taking some time off, Robin was back to Hollywood
with one of the greatest roles of her career. She was Tara in The Playboys
(1992). She was stunning and brilliant. She was a star in Toys (1992) which was
a comedy with Robin Williams. It was hilarious. Wright appeared in 1994's
blockbuster sensation Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated
for the Golden Globe Award for her part in the film as Jenny. She was offered a
small role in The Crossing Guard (1995) along with Jack Nicholson. After having
turned down 14 roles she landed the title role of MGM/UA's Moll Flanders
(1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and Stockard
Channing. Her next film was Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) along with William Hurt.
