Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary practices and the environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking in her early years. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for managing restaurants when she received an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I loved every minute that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she says. I was never able to study or accomplish enough. After graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) while attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. During her time in Italy she was able to fully comprehend and appreciate the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture which has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children living with difficulties. She also serves as a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for children with diabetes and awareness. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as a mentor as well as a public speaker in which she speaks about her work and passion for cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has always said I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my passion to others.
